DIY Starbucks Strawberries and Creme Frappiccino
Note: can be substituted so it is dairy-free
This delicious copycat Frappuccino is both easier and cheaper than getting a water at Starbucks! (Bad joke?) 😂
Annamarie here. If you've ever been to Starbucks, you may know of the high prices for coffees, lemonades, teas, Frappuccino, and secret menu drinks. (Hey - what even happened to the unicorn Frappuccino?)
Since it is summer season where me and Alexa live, the strawberries and creme frap is perfect! I wanted to go to Starbucks today, but of course the response I get - "no, it's too expensive," so I had to make-do and look on Pinterest for copycat recipes. I came across a healthy version of the strawberries and creme frap that was considered, "skinny" and "healthy". So, I put my own twist to it, and came up with this:
Ingredients:
-1 cup frozen strawberries
-1/2 cup milk*
-heaping handful of ice
-1 cup strawberry Greek yogurt (or regular, if you use regular, add extra strawberries)*
-whipped cream, optional
Place all ingredients in a blender (or I used a food processor) and blend for 30-60 seconds. First, I put in the liquid ingredients, then slowly added the strawberries and ice. Top with whipped cream, optional.
*milk can be substituted for coconut or almond milk for dairy-free, or substituted with skim milk
*yogurt can be substituted with a dairy-free yogurt
Want to add chocolate for a dipped chocolate tang? Add Nutella or chocolate syrup for a special twist.
Please comment on how you like this!!
Fun fact: Lexa has never been to Starbucks!
